Vani Moodley Chief Executive 

With twenty five years of experience in the Small Medium Enterprise development sector, organisational development, management and leadership sectors, Ms Vani Moodley has designed training models, manuals, trained, mentored, coached and interacted with women, youth and men in urban and rural areas, in business, in federations, corporate and government, nationally within South Africa, in six countries in Africa for the ILO, CEFE International and Oxfam America, the USA, Phillipines, Sweden, Switzerland, Bangladesh (engaged by the World Bank IFC), India, Belgium (Seda & the Flemish Government), Dubai, England Mauritius and Brazil. She has travelled to 26 countries and two islands. From the “rural” to the “boardroom”, she has trained and consulted as an internationally accredited trainer of trainers on entrepreneurship and leadership using the CEFE (Competencies Based Economies Formation of Enterprises) Model as a basis.

Ms Moodley held national leadership positions in institutions for over thirteen years and founded and directed Vuka Uzithathe, an Institute for Gender and Economic Development for eight years. Ms Moodley is a recognised and accredited service provider to various government departments, a rural municipality, projects and corporate including the Seda National Learning Academy, Seda Provincial offices, the DTI national offices, Shanduka Black Umbrellas – national (Supplier Development Gap Analysis & Training), The World Bank International Finance Corporation, The International Labour Organisation and others. Ms Moodley served as the Chairman of the Businesswomen’s Association in Durban and on the national board of the organisation from December 2004 to April 2009.

Vani Moodley Consulted for the Ethekwini Maritime Cluster that is tasked with the transformation of the Maritime Sector. Her role was to design a Business Incubation Model for entrepreneurs at varying levels. She is a Licensed Practitioner with Connemara Insights Africa (Pty) Ltd, an international company that uses psychometric analyses as a basis for personal effectiveness, leadership, Management training, and team building.

Vani Moodley & Associates is appointed as the Strategic Local Economic Development Consultants by the Ngqushwa (Pedi) Municipality in the Eastern Cape.

  • Vice President of the Durban Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI)
  • Chairman of the Women in Business Forum within DCCI and serves on the Council, and Board.
  • Represents the DCCI at two action working groups of the Provincial Planning Commission in KZN
  • A member of the University of KZN Extended Learning Advisory Board.
  • Deputy Chairman, Board member, non-executive Director of the Durban Chamber Foundation.
  • Invited associate of United Succes, a worldwide network of women business owners
  • A member of the Global Board Ready Women’s organisation.
  • She will complete a Masters Degree in Public and Development Management at the University of Witwatersrand in 2017.
